IYM 2002 SCOTLAND HOME PAGE

2002 is the International Year of Mountains (IYM). The aim of the IYM is to ensure the well-being of mountain and lowland communities by promoting the conservation and sustainable development of mountain communities. In Scotland the IYM project is being hosted by the Centre for Mountain Studies based at Perth College who are co-ordinating a wide range of mountain related events throughout the year. Highlights are the 3rd European Mountain Convention in Inverness in May and the Nature and People Conference in Pitlochry in November. Click the links below for further background information.
